The CO2 you have offset is equivalent to one of the following things:

0

m2 OF ICE SAVED
FROM MELTING

According to the research paper published in the fall issue of the Science Magazine there is a linear relationship between the loss of Arctic sea ice and CO2 emissions. This rate is 3 ± 0.3 square metres per tonne of CO2.

0

km FLOWN IN
ECONOMY CLASS

According to the UK government’s greenhouse gas report from 2017 a long haul flight London to San Francisco emits 0.15119 kg of CO2 per km per person seated in economy class.

0

km TRAVELED
BY CAR

The US Environmental Protection Agency’s carbon emissions calculator estimates that  driving 3992.7 km in a standard car emits emits 1 tonne of CO2.

NARUPA

NARUPA

Narupa reserve is located in an area of Ecuador that boasts the highest level of biodiversity on Earth as exemplified by the 872 species of birds recorded. Expanding the Narupa Reserve is timely and urgent as the premontane tropical forests in Ecuador are currently being deforested at an astounding annual rate of 9.8%. For every €350 donated we will buy an acre of rainforest, integrate it with the existing reserve and ensure its continued protection.

YANACOCHA

YANACOCHA

Situated at an altitude of 3500 meters, Yanacocha reserve hosts a project of peak importance and is home to the world’s highest reforestation project. During the past decade this area of the Andes has been subjected to severe deforestation as a result of clearing land space for pasturing. Very few patches of forest remain, and the loss of these habitats threatens the survival of various different species.

MADAGASCAR

MADAGASCAR

Madagascar is home to over 200,000 species of plants and animals that exist nowhere else on the planet. Over the past decades more than 90% of Madagascar’s native forests have been destroyed. Green Future Project is working closely with our reforestation partner to replenish the mangrove population along the west coast estuaries. This initiative is of great importance  as mangroves are among the most carbon-rich tropical forests in the world.

INDONESIA

INDONESIA

Indonesia is one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet. Over the last 3 decades, Indonesia has lost more than 40% of its mangrove forests, grievously affecting not only the natural environment and the species that inhabit it, but also the communities that depend on this ecosystem for survival. Green Future Project is working closely with our reforestation partner to restore and protect uniquely vital forest systems on Biak Island.

WIND ENERGY

WIND ENERGY

The Wind Power Project is located in the Jaisalmer district in Rajasthan, India. India is heavily reliant on fossil fuel generated power and has a significant part of its rural population that still uses wood as fuel for cooking and to heath their households – for an equal amount of heat or electricity, wood releases more CO2 than burning gas, oil and even coal.
